CLOSE

(stock #'s in %)

Market down 170/48/18. Volume very heavy. Oil under $85. France, Spain, Italy extend bans on short selling. What does that tell ya. Irene to blast NY over the weekend. And Boston after that. Today's selloff before Bernanke speaks tomorrow. Also down on other econ data. And Buffett's $5B into BofA netted $1.4B on day 1. What a world.

GWTR up 171. The wild and wooly. Want more? HYHY, GAEC up 100. ESRG up 90. Gotta love it, huh? GCHT up 35. WPNV up 26. ENER up 25. SPOW up 22 on less than 1k shares. IFXY,CLNO also up 22. PWAZ up 20. AMLM up 17. CGYV up 16. PANL up 15 more on huge volume. VSPC, TRKP, PTOS, EVCA up 12. NENE up 10. CCGI up 10 on 200 shares. $50M valuation. $1 range from $53 in 12 months. Man o man. AONE up 9. VRNM up 9, working on a 12-month triple. GSPI up another 8. BYDDF seems to have stabilized around $2. Of all these, ENER, PANL, NENE, VRNM and AONE should be seriously considered. The others are the wild, the wooly or the unproven.

EFIR down 33. WTWO down 29. VNDB down 25. AFPW down 21. AWNE down 17. ENSL down 15. CSOL down 11. ECOS, BLQN down 10. BIOF down 10, new low. GTAT down 8, back under 200-day lines. EFOI down 7, ASYS down 5. I don't get it. Of all these, GTAT, EFOI and ASYS should be taken seriously. The others be "playa's". O, maybe BIOF is serious.

Happy trails, pards.
