STUFF

BP seeking at least $20B from Halliburton over '10 Gulf spill.

Global growth has slowed lately to 3.9%.

France's Total putting $2.3B through end of '14 into development of Utica shale gas reserves in Ohio, taking 25% stake in joint venture with Chesapeake Energy. While the recent earthquakes in west Ohio have been attributed to fracking.

China to invest $1.78B - 70% of $2.55B deal with Global Biofuels - to build 15 biorefineries in Nigeria. Initial pilot plant online 4Q12 @ $108M. Full-scale plants to run $183M each. Also last week Nigerian Ex-Im Bank gave $695M to 5 comps investing in renewables, most to a sugarcane project.

TX intro'd new rules that allow biodiesel to be added to any compliant fuel at any ratio, backtracking on previous rules. Also reducing reporting burden for blenders and removes requirement for additives with biodiesel.

O yea, Iran rattling sabers over US carrier in Persian Gulf. What should US do? Ignore it? Send a carrier back? Step up pressure on sanctions? Tell them to cram it?
