GAO: oil/gas operations could economically capture about 40% of flared or vented NG on Fed land to boost govt royalties by $23M/y. Obviously the point is they could reduce GHGs the equivalent of 3M cars or heat 1.7M homes. Operations on Fed land. It's time to require it anywhere. And find out how to economically capture it all.

O&G on public lands (US) generated ~$9B royalties in '09.

Switch to efficient lighting could save US $9B/y and remove equiv 11M cars GHGs. Could save $5.5B in China (lighting ~12% el use). Incandescents now about 70% of sales. Outlawed I think by '12 here. In Indonesia the switch could save need for 3.5 coal plants.

Research says LED market will grow 30% in '11 and surpass $1b revenue by '14. Not sure if this was US or world market.
