Codexis (CDXS) has teamed up with Shell to rollout techs this year to make biofuels from wheat straw and sugar cane waste. CDXS up 16% Friday, jumping over all its day lines.

EMKR was up 15% Friday on fiscal 1Q report. Revs up 23% v. last year, still net loss, but improvement. Backlog down. But breakout above all 5-year lines and a 2-year flatline bottom.

ITRI jumped up 9 Friday, busting through 200-day lines. Announces 4Q, yr at market close on the 16th.

POWI up 15 Friday after reporting night before top and bottom lines exceeding analysts', guidance above consensus. Power controllers for LED lighting a major product. And they got the court decision against Fairchild Semi for patent infringement which gives them more leverage to get license payments from competitors. Revs grew 39%, profits doubled. Jump over 200-days.

Demand/supply coal shortage in India expected to hit 142M tons next year. Record coal imports last year. Their imports up 10X last decade. Another 20% next year.

World food prices hit a record in Jan. Records began in 1990 - UN World Food Price Index.

OPEC to spend $155B on projects now to '14. But most just to maintain current output. Except Iraq.
