STUFF

Hosni's gone. The people of Egypt have won one for the world. Let's hope it goes up day by day from here.

Petrochina to pay $5.4B for 50% stake in Canada's biggest NG provider - Encana's - shale gas project in Brit Columbia. Cutbank Ridge produces >500mcfd with reserves of 2tcf on >1.2M acres.

Solar Acquisition Corp and Global Natural Energy Cyprus are forming a joint venture - GNE USA - to make algae biodiesel. After 10 yrs of research, GNE has commercially viable systems. We hope. And wouldn't mind a stock to buy if true.

GE buying Wind Tower Systems. New wind tower goes higher, has its own crane at the top to hoist the turbine and blades and is less costly to haul to site, cutting 36 trucks to 6. Available in '12.

Solazyme collaborating with Qantas to pursue commercial production of microbial-derived avfuel. Qantas also working with Solena to determine feas of using MSW (muni solid waste). Watch for biojet fuel specs being approved this year. Will spark a flood. USAF announced the C-17 now certified for 50% renewable fuel mix with JP-8.

Unusually dry wx in Brazil contributed to a reported 21% drop in cane sugar production in '10.

Finland: Neste Oil's new biodiesel reduces particulates 30%. NOx down 10%. Talk of using it in buses. How 'bout trux? >50% redux in GHG's. Currently made from palm, rapeseed oils and waste fat from food processing.

Canada going forward with requiring 2% renewable content in diesel, heating oils. GHG redux = 1M cars off the roads. May be law by July.

And on Feb 6, NASA started beaming back images of our Sun - front and back - from the 2 STEREO probes.

Is it amazing or what, pards.
