Justice. A large victory. But the war goes on. And will be probably more intense in coming weeks and months.

Bin Laden buried at sea after the raid. The account of the raid will be a great read and movie. Navy Seals and a top counter-insurgency team in and out on 2 helicopters (2 were in reserve). Our guys sure are good. OBL was in a mansion complex ~1 km from a Pakistani military academy and near 3 army regiments in Abbottabad, ~60 miles from Islamabad. Built 5 years ago. Supposedly we found out in August it was probably OBL's. Go decisions started mid-Feb. Final intel confirm last week. Obama cited Pakistani intel help. But the CIA certainly has redeemed itself large. Panetta directed the attack.

OBL shot in the head. One son, a senior member of al-Quaida, also killed. And others. Others taken out in the helicopters. Others arrested, taken to hospitals. Raid occurred ~1:15AM local (114 Surahs in Koran). 1 hovering chopper stalled in, they couldn't restart. The raid proceeded and later the chopper was blown up by our forces and another flown in. Our forces at the compound 38 minutes. Again, with all the Paki military so near, I find it the strangest part that they weren't showing up within 38 minutes. I assume they were getting reports of gunfire (and possibly small explosions) at the beginning. If they didn't hear it themselves. The chopper was blown up when leaving. Anyway, none of our guys were injured. Man, they're good.

Focus now on Zawahiri. Awlaki in Yemen.

But let's not forget. Our national debt was ~$5T on 9/11. Now $14.3. We had budget surpluses at the turn of the century and projections to pay down all the debt. Then Republicans gained the power. Tax cuts. The war. Two new administrations - Homeland Security and Transportation Security. Medipill. All unfunded. Yet even with the tax cuts only the rich got wealthier and our growth was tepid as jobs went overseas. Then eventually we were brought to our knees with the financial/real estate bubble burst. Now we've spent trillions more avoiding a depression. And here we are facing government shutdown threats from Republicans and Teapartiers.

History. Let's keep it straight, folks and patriots. Let's have our laughs. But let's keep it straight.
