Solar City filed for $201M IPO.

Helio Sage Energy launched $105M fund for purchase of late stage PV solar projects in '13. Backed by US Fortune 500 comp with experience in owning, operating energy assets. Criteria include projects of 2-30Mw, credit worthy power buyers. 2nd fund of similar size established for '14.

Since begin of Production Tax Credit, wind industry has lowered costs >90%.

Russia banned Monsanto gen mod corn.

AZ Public Service plans to decommission 3 oldest units of 4 Corners power plant by yearend. 2 other units produce majority of power. Capacity will drop to 1.54Gw from 2.1.

USDA awarded Dairyland Power Coop $262M loan guarantee to cut coal emissions ($400M at 2 plants), $9.5M for smart grid development, increase efficiency and add 81 miles of transmission line in Wisc.

BLM gave Alta Rock Energy permission to start injecting water into series of cracks ~2 miles below Oregon volcano for geothermal power production. Testing phase through '14.

MN ordering Xcel Energy to retain $5M/y solar rebate program through '15. Funded by Xcel ratepayers. Rebates to > 500 customers since '10, met goal of adding 6Mw.

Fed judge ruled ND's lawsuit against MN over right to sell new coal-generated power across state lines can go forward. "Plausible" case '07 MN energy law invalid because fed law preempts it. Threw out 2 ND claims that MN's law violated US Constitution.

Wisc Public Service buying Fox Energy. $440M includes $390M for 593Mw combined-cycle power plant fueled either by NG or diesel.

A Canary Island building hybrid 11Mw hydropower, 11Mw windfarm project. 6Mw to pump water into higher storage. Will supply 65% of island's el needs, cutting out diesel. Online March '13.

Here's why FSLR got dropped last week. Up to 232K panels may need to be replaced. "May over time develop loose cord-plate attachment." Was reported in Aug guidance. No "significant" impact on earnings. Risk of el shock, fire. (Don't put them on rooftops).
