US venture cap investment in clean tech up 73% to $1.1B in 3Q over last year. 76 deals, up 36%. Energy storage got $421M, fuel cells leading with $225M. Bloom the leader with $150M. Solar led gen side with $255M (down 2% yoy). 44 new-build clean E asset financings with disclosed value of $6.8B. Solar had $5B of that. 20 deals. NextEra Energy (largest US wind power producer) plans to spend $5.8B next 3 yrs on wind and solar projects.
