NRC denied license for proposed nuke reactor on Chesapeake Bay in MD. Atomic Energy Act prohibits foreign ownership, control or domination. UniStar Nuclear 100% owned by France. They have 60 days to find US partner.

GE recently installed 300 wind turbines in Brazil. >600 more next 2 years there. Also to open 2 service centers by '14. Brazil installed 583MW wind in '11, cap up to 1.5GW.

3. $43B. Japan firm to be pulling NG, liquid fuels from under seafloor 550 miles offshore Australia. They'll separate the fuels and pipe the NG onshore and ship the liquids.

EPA seeking comment on proposed permit for Capitol Power Plant in DC to use NG instead of coal. Plant built in early 1900's. Provides steam heat, chilled water for cooling to fed bldgs, including Capitol. Planning to add el, last time they did that was in '51.

Appeals court in Washington ruled to keep try to prohibit coal shipments out of export terminal off the ballot.
