GE picked Colorado east of Denver for $300M 400MW thin film CdTe solar panel plant. No fed subsidies. They don't need 'm. According to the stories, they don't pay any tax. Last year 878MW of solar was installed in the US. Plant to be operational in '12.

With $15.5B in state-backed credit, China's biggest wind turbine makers taking on $70B global market. Sinovel and Goldwind won their 1st major foreign orders in the past year and plan to set up plants abroad including in US. Turbine prices down 22% from '08 peak. Chinese turbines 10% cheaper than GE, Siemens.
