STUFF

NG production in Neast US has tripled from 1.5BCF/d in July '08 to > 4.5BCF/d this July. Almost all the increase from PA. US now largest NG producer in world.

US streams/rivers release almost 100M metric tons of CO2/yr. Some from decomposition of trees/plants. Some presumably from ag runoff. More research needed. Waterway CO2 has previously been uncounted.

Melting permafrost emitting Mercury into Yukon River: USGS. Let alone methane into atmos.

Ah, a bit of good news. Mustard gas stockpiles have been destroyed in OR depot. Was it the grey poupon? And we're still dismantling the big 9 megaton bombs. Thank God for something.

China pledges not to pollute at US levels. Unfortunately, at the pace they're going ...

Weak demand keeps polysilicon production flat (up 3% in Q2 in US). 3 main US plants. Solar-grade Q2 production 10,785 metric tons.

Brazil's sugarcane ethanol production forecast drops again. And a Brazilian comp exited biodiesel biz as the country pushes for B20 standard.

BP, Unilever among investors that put $49M - O so much money - into comps developing sorghum, castor and cellulosic biofuels.

And that's the come and go I had the wahoo to notate. Meanwhile, NPWZ hit 1.2 cents but now back to 1 cent. The market really is kind of nuts. But when hasn't it been, huh, pards?

And I must give a testament to Ollie. She was 85. Played classical and popular piano at our semi-monthly musical gatherings. I had the honor of playing along with her. She was one of the nicest persons I had ever met. We had good talks. Gone in a motoring accident a few days ago. God has one more excellent piano player and beautiful lady in his band today. We'll miss you Ollie.

Happy trails, pards.
