Maersk and US Navy testing algae-based biofuel on a container ship now en route from Germany to India. Dedicated auxiliary test engine. Testing 7,500 gallons with 7-100% blends. Will also analyze emissions, power efficiency and engine wear.

Back in Nov, Navy used 50-50 blend of petrol and Solazyme (SZYM) biofuel in destroyer test run.

FCEL signed tentative deal with Abengoa (Spain) to sell biofuel-powered fuel cell generators to commercial markets in Latin Am and Europe. Pilot install will be 300KW generator at Abengoa HQ.

Thai Airways planning to launch 100% biofuel-powered Boeing 777 route this month.

Whitecourt Alberta says biomass waste-irrigated trees grow 30% larger than non-irrigated.
