Dong Energy (Denmark) plans to convert 3 coal power plants to biomass (wood) for $795M. Total 1GW. Denmark wants 1/3 of its power from renewables by '20, 100% by '50. Also targeting 12% redux in E use (from '06) by '20. The country already produces 70% of its renewable E with biomass. Dong now uses ~1M metric tons of wood pellets per year. That would double with the new plant conversions (online by '15).
