El produced from coal fell 21% in US last year. But demand for coal up 65% in India, 81% in S Korea, 119% in Japan. US coal exports 107M tons - $16B - last yr, 2X exports of '06. DOE says US demand could drop 10% more this year, falling below 1B tons for only 2nd time since '95. Rest of world will burn 6B tons, expecting 10B by '30. In India, 19 coal plants have <4 days stock, 30 more plants <7 days. Australia produced 83% of their power with coal in '10. US infrastructure needs coal export terminals.
