STUFF

Nigeria says it will increase crude exports 9.3% in April over this month. Meanwhile, Saudi "Day of Rage" called for March 11 and 20. So I guess it's 2 days of rage. Apparently that $34B or so doled out didn't placate everybody. And Oman pumped out 885kbpd in Jan. And it's reported the rebels held off Kadaffy's attack on the Eastern oilfield area. You think any Delta force was in there? Sh. Quiet.

$5B pulled out of emerging markets in 2nd week of Feb for US, Euro, JP, global equity funds. $47B so far in '11. $29B to US.

Interior Dept has likely cost taxpayers tens of billions in lost royalties: govt oversight officials. Poor job of tracking production of oil/NG from public lands/waters. Tsk tsk.

1366 Tech got $28M more from GE, others. Their process can convert molten Si into wafers. Present tech can waste up to half the Si (@$50/kg) by cutting. Goal is 25 cents/watt for wafers. Now 72 cents. US produces ~40% of wafers. $1.7B biz. Could be $7B biz with new process, 150k jobs.

$45M more for Genomatica. Waste Management an investor. Genetically-modified microbes to replace petro/energy-intensive chemical production. Can turn landfill materials into industrial chemicals. Hope for pilot plant this year.

SunRun report to DOE: solar install costs can be reduced 50 cents/watt by standardizing permit processes town to town. Could save $1B next 5 yrs. Germany the model. Installs 40% lower. 1M installs there last 2 yrs. Total in US 120k. Why do we have to be so damn stupid.
