STUFF

Enerkem (Montreal) makes eth from old utility poles and trash. Got investment from Valero. Waste Management also raised their stake. Building 2 plants in Canada. 1 with 1.3M gal/y cap, the other with 10M gal. Also got $50M DOE grant and loan guarantee for 3rd plant (10M gal) in MS. 10M gal plants use 100k tons of garbage/y. The product meets fed definition of advanced cellulosic biofuel (not food). So, eligible for quota that fuel distributors must meet. Catalyst of copper and zinc turns out methanol which is converted to eth. And they use 2:1 ratio of CO to H to turn trash into pure gas.

A UK comp suspended fracking after 2 small earthquakes occurred near a test well.

A power outage closed FERC headquarters. Irony is amazing.

OPEC will likely roll over current output agreement next week, untouched since record cut in Dec '08.

Libya's oil minister defected. And NATO is extending the campaign 90 more days.

IEA: global CO2 emissions up 5% from '08. Highest ever recorded in '10. What's to be said. We'll reap the whirlwinds.

We can make our days happy or not. I hope yours' was the former. I did OK. Keep it right n tight.
