Earlier this week, Schneider bought 74% of Luminous Tech (India) - power storage equip, inverters. In April they bought Lee Tech - data center equip with $140M annual revs - and Smart Link Network systems (India) - cabling specialists - for $112M, and Summit Energy - consulting and energy mgmt  - for $268M a few days before that. Schneider, ABB, Siemens and GE in race for smart grid development capability.

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures got $45M DOE conditional commitment for a loan quarantee for a 20MW PV solar farm 25 miles from Vegas. FRV has 280MW pipeline of PPA's, running 3rd behind SPWRA and FSLR. Edwards AFB in pipe for potential 350MW.

Competitive Power Ventures, GE Energy Financial Services and Diamond Generating Corp closed on the $900M CPV Sentinal solar power plant, the largest project financing in US thermal power industry this year. To be built in Riverside County, CA.

Vestas got 149MW order for turbines for Canadian wind farm.
