Real GDP growth in Japan slowed to medieval levels after '89. US after '99. Japan hasn't added a fulltime job in 20 yrs. US in 10 (actually, 1.3M loss). In the last century, Russia caused real GDP to decline for 70 yrs. In China it was 30. Just some fun facts.

Since intro of internet, GDP growth rates have gone down. Yet internet social sites with sales in the tens of millions are still valued (by stock prices) in the high single digit billions. What are people thinking.

8 new nuke plants to be built in England. Nukes now 18% of elgen, but all plants but 1 must be shut down by '23.

GA Power to buy up to 50MW of solar power by '15 to comply with state regulator's request.

Laos to build 10 hydrodam plants in next 5 yrs. 5 under construction. Already 16 online with 2GW elgen. They made $146M last 6 months exporting el to Thailand.

$363M 162MW SD wind farm dedicated. Most turbines owned by Basin El Coop, 7 by local investors, 1 by Mitchell Tech Inst. SD now has 782MW of installed wind gen that can power up to equiv of 70% of SD homes.

Shell signed agreements with Alberta and Canada to secure $865M for CO2 storage project. 1M tons/yr from heavy oil processing plant. Shell recently expanded oil sands ops 100kb/d to 255k. Initial CO2 injections planned for '15.
